Career Path Chronology: Artist > Graphic Designer > Advertising > Publicity > New Media. It's true...Social Media as a tool for publicity is not exactly a new frontier. But in all my research and self-teaching from a publicity standpoint thus far, I'm finding a rather uncovered aspect of hands-on user experience.
Because I am from a visual communications background, there is not as much to completely embracing humanity as I would like there to be. New Media and Mass Communications from a social perspective needs to be explored and understood as deeply as a degree in Psychology would require.
I will be adding more here to this page as the upcoming weeks and months unfold...more of what I am tentatively referring to as New Social Media Psychographics as well as a preview of best and worse case studies from real social networks I have been actively and authentically participating in.
Also coming soon, I'll be discussing the topic of Web Analytics for Idiots, as in making plain english sense of site monitoring and statistics and how it applies to investigating your audience in an unobtrusive way. Consider it audience 'stalking' if you must. Because I am one of those annoying people who wants everything to have some kind of purpose toward 'the greater good', the majority of my real case studies and projects will be focused on cases of the 'up and coming' and those with regional to national fan bases that are only recently expanding to international areas. Stefan Maechler proves beyond any doubt that Wilkomirski is no such person and that Fragments is a fiction. |
